李娜向第一个温网冠军迈出第一步
China＊s most successful tennis player Li Na begins her charge toward her first Wimbledon title Monday night, playing her first round on Court 12 at 9:30 ET against Kazakhstan＊s Ksenia Pervak.

 

The 11th-seed from Wuhan admitted she felt less pressure entering the tournament compared to this time 12 months ago, which was just weeks after she claimed China＊s first Grand Slam title at the French Open.

 

※This year [I am] feeling more free,§ said the 30-year-old Ms. Li in a pretournament press conference, adding that the constant attention wasn＊t good for her game. ※Now I can do [as] much practice as I can. I can concentrate on the court,§ added the right-hander.

 

Asked what it would mean to hoist the Venus Rosewater Dish on the final Saturday, she joked her agent would have to do more work.

 

※I still remember after [the French Open victory], Max couldn＊t sleep for, how long, two weeks, a month. So I think it＊s tough for him,§ she said, referring to IMG sports agent Max Eisenbud who secured endorsement contracts worth at least $42 million, Bloomberg reported last August.

 

Ms. Li said she hadn＊t looked at her draw past the first round, but under one possible scenario she could meet Australian fifth-seed Samantha Stosur in the fourth round, Polish third-seed Agnieszka Radwanska in the quarterfinals and the world＊s No. 1 player, Russian Maria Sharapova, in the semifinals. Likely finalists from the draw＊s bottom half include second-seeded Belarusian Victoria Azarenka, four-time champion and sixth-seed American Serena Williams or defending champion and fourth-seed Petra Kvitova, of the Czech Republic.

 

But first, Ms. Li must overcome Ms. Pervak who upset German Andrea Petkovic atWimbledonlast year to progress to the fourth round. It was Ms. Pervak＊s only Grand Slam appearance in eight where she advanced past the first round.

 

Ms. Li who reached the quarterfinals of tennis＊s most prestigious tournament in 2006 and 2010 岸 leads their head-to-head count, having won their only previous meeting in the opening round of this year＊s Australian Open in straight sets.

 

Of Ms. Li＊s compatriots, 30th-seed Shuai Peng takes on Poland＊s Sandra Zaniewska while 25th-seed Jie Zheng facesCanada＊s Stephanie Dubois, both in first-time meetings.

 

In the men＊s draw, Taiwanese duo Yen-Hsun Lu and qualifier Jimmy Wang , playing for what in tennis tournaments like in the Olympics is called Chinese Taipei, face American young gun Ryan Harrison and 17th-seeded Spaniard Fernando Verdasco respectively.

 

Mr. Lu was a surprise quarterfinalist in 2010 after he upset big-serving 2009 finalist Andy Roddick in the round of 16 but has lost both career meetings to Mr. Harrison including a 6-1, 7-6 loss last week in Eastbourne.

 

Mr. Wang, who reached a career-high ranking of 85 in 2006, and Mr. Verdasco have never met.

在男子组当中，中华台北队卢彦勋和王宇佐将分别面对美国籍新秀哈里森(Ryan Harrison)和西班牙籍17号种子选手沃达斯科(Fernando Verdasco)。

 

2010年，卢彦勋在16强比赛中击败2009年决赛选手罗迪克(Andy Roddick)，爆冷进入四分之一决赛。但在与哈里森有史以来的两场比赛中，他都以失败告终，包括上周在伊斯特本(Eastbourne)的一场比赛（两局比分分别为6-1和7-6）。

 

王宇佐在2006年取得85名的个人最高排名，他与沃达斯科从未有过交锋。
